Casio VL-Tone

owner: Malte Steiner, Germany

"...it got programmed by following procedure: It was a calculator with an attached synth. It got several presets sounds and one programmable sound, named ADSR because this were the main parameters you can alter. You programmed it by typing a 8 digit number which fits the display and then you put it into memory like others pocket calculators. The parameters of course got a range from 0 to 9, the first chooses the waveform (like piano, flute, fantasy, guitar...), the next ones describes the envelope of amp. There are three waveforms which can be modulated by an LFO, the 'electro' named ones (but the others sounds also electronic). The last digits alter the modulation of them. There is also a sequencer built in (but no 'step' sequencer) and a weak sounding rhythm unit." -------- Malte Steiner
