"I have a silver one. Probably one of the reasons you don't see many pictures (now) of silver ones is that they don't look very good. The panel was not sealed/coated and over time the aluminum tarnishes pretty badly and doesn't look very good at all. I spent a whole weekend with a jar of Aluminum Jelly (similar to Naval Jelly, and found in most hardware stores) restoring the front panel of mine. I got *most* of the tarnish off with only minimal damage to the lettering. One of the challenges is that the slider switches are 'glued' to the front panel with silicone seal (round holes must have been easier to drill than rectangular ones...) and I had to avoid getting A.J. in and around the switches." - Tom Moravansky
